Here is a
selection of Tulllinks I would like to recommend:
The Official
Jethro Tull Homepage:
'Webmeister' and Tull's
keyboard-player Andy Giddings manages The Official
Jethro Tull Homepage. It contains information
about the band by band members, news, a diary, a
discography, concert dates, flute pages and other
interesting things. The site is frequently
updated, so that we fans know what our heroes are
doing right now.*
Overall
information:
- When it comes to Jethro Tull, this is the place
to be on the internet: The
Jethro Tull Website, owned by Dave
Steiner. This site contains a lot of helpful
information about Jethro Tull. Apart from the
lyrics one will find here a complete discography,
a FAQ, guitar tabs, a bootleg list, an archive of
illustrations (GIF and JPG-format),etc.
- Here one can also join the 6700 Tull-fans who
subscribed to the St.
Cleve Chronicle Digest (the Jethro Tull
mailing list), where the lyrics of Ian Anderson
are a regular issue of discussion. The site also
contains an archive of SCC back-issues from 1990
up to now.
- Laufi's Jethro
Tull World is the very informative and well
designed website with many features, owned by
Marco Laufenberg, a German fan who somehow always
manages to get the latest news first. Anyway, he
sits closer to the fire than most of us do.
- Then there is Paradise
Steakhouse: The Jethro Tull Database,
probably the most informative and resourceful one
on Tull next to Dave Steiner's, from where a
Forum and a Tull chat box can be accessed with
comments and contributions from Tull-fans allover
the world.
The History Of Jethro
Tull:
Here is an overview of Jethro
Tull's history. More detailed information is
to be found in Dave Rees' book "Minstrel in
the Gallery : A history of Jethro Tull".
Over the years there were many
fine musicians part of Jethro Tull. The
Jethro Tull Chronology offers an overview of
all members, past and present.
Another overview of band members
(past and present) and related bands is offered
by The
Jethro Tull Family Tree, and includes many
interesting links.
Album reviews:
- Tony James owns the interesting website
Talking Tull. It contains valuable
reflections of Tull-fans about the
albums-as-a-whole, the career of the band and
concert reviews from the 1998 USA-tour.
- The same goes for W.S.
Gumby, who's page offers reviews and ratings
of Tull-albums and an interesting
"dissenting opinion page". It's the
only Tull-site that contains humour!
Discography:
- Dag Sandbu's site Collecting
Tull contains a well worked out discography
including cover art, tourprograms and other
memorabilia. This is the place to look for trades
and auctions. Recently Steen Hartov's site was
integrated in Dag's which now is loaded with
information concerning Jethro Tull's discography.
It contains data of all (well, almost all, as he
is still working on it) official and bootleg
records, CD's, LP's, EP's and singles as well.
For collectors this site is a valuable reference.
Audio
& Video:
- For audio and video material Erin's
Tull & Video Page has a lot to offer.
(This site has temporarily been taken down for
maintenance).
- Jethro Tull MP3 files can be found at Back
To The Family, including information on how
MP3 works, how to donload and listen to them and
links to other Tull MP3 pages.
- There is a virtual radio station on the internet
called
All Tull All The Time. Here they play Tull
MP3 files all the time, both official material
and bootlegs. To listen to this station it is
recommended that you download Sonique or FreeAmp first.
(Winamp appears not always reliable, because of
some bugs). Both programs are free. The sound
quality is good to very good, depending on how
much traffic there is on the net.
- Bill
Highley collected over 20 different MP3 files
on his 'Jethro Tull MP3 Index' page and his
collection is still growing. You need to download
Winamp®
first to listen to them.
- Adam
Bodkin, owner of the Tull Web Ring, has over
20 self-made MIDI-files of Tull-songs available
on his site.
Multimedia:
- If you want to turn your computer into a real
Tull-machine you should go to Witch's
Promise. Here you wil find screensavers,
desktop themes, startup/shutdown logo's free for
downloading, among other things. They were
designed by Sam Thirouin.*
(The Headmaster,
watching me, watching you....)

Progressive Rock Pages:
The
Rough Guide to Rock Music is the ultimate
online rock guide - the careers and recordings of
more than 1200 bands and artists. Published in
book form in October 1996, it was developed over
the previous year on these pages - and it
remains, in its online form, a work in progress.
The entries are updated on a regular basis and
the editors are open to suggestions from readers.
The Dutch
Progressive Rock Page, a very informative
site and a 'must see' for everybody who is
interested in 'old' and 'recent' progressive and
